The Governing Body of St Illtyd’s is made up of 21 volunteers from the local community who give up their time to help manage and improve the school. They are appointed to serve a four year term of office. The Governing Body consists of:
12 Foundation Governors – appointed by the Archdiocese of Cardiff
2 LEA Governors – appointed by Cardiff Council
3 Parent Governors – elected by parents
2 Teacher Governors
1 Support Staff Governor
and the Executive Headteacher.
The Governing Body are able to co-opt additional members for fixed term appointments. This could be to temporarily fill some vacancies, or to plug a gap in knowledge.
