The Governing Body are the admissions authority for St Illtyd’s Catholic High School. If you wish to send your child to our school, then you must make an application directly to the school, using the school’s application form.
Our standard admission number for each year group is 176. This is set by the Governors in conjunction with the capacity survey completed with Cardiff Council and the Welsh Government. The Governors will review the current number on roll when considering your application, and will admit children up to this maximum number on the basis of the admission category given to your application.
Applications can be made at any time if your child is in Years 7-11. The Governors admissions committee will meet once per month to review applications received up to that point.
If your child is currently in Year 6 and you would like them to attend St Illtyd’s in September 2018, then applications must be submitted to the school by Monday 4th December 2017. You can collect an application from the school office, telephone and request that one be sent out to you, or print one from the website. If you would like the opportunity to take a tour of the school and see our facilities, please contact Mrs Hawkins to make an appointment.
Our admission categories are:
1 – Looked After Children
2 – Baptised Catholic children attending a designated Catholic primary school
3 – Baptised Catholic children attending another primary school
4 – Children of other denominations or faiths who have siblings at St Illtyd’s
5 – Non-Catholic children who attend a designated Catholic primary school
6 – Children of other Christian denominations whose parents attend church regularly
7 – Children whose parents wish to be educated in a Catholic secondary school
For categories 2, 3, & 6 should provide evidence with their application in the form of a baptismal certificate or supporting letter from a Priest or Minister.
